Last year Iain Wright launched the Local Heroes award, designed to recognise the tireless work that members of our community do to make life that little bit better for others.

The first winner of the award was Isobel Wilson who launched the Pansies Breast Cancer Support Group. The group provides a network of emotional and practical support for breast cancer sufferers. Isobel was nominated by other members of the group for all the effort she puts into supporting others and raising money to keep the group afloat.
